This scholarship is awarded to those High School Seniors who score high on the school’s Accuplacer assessment, which consists of reading comprehension, math, and English. The top two scoring candidates from the summer Accuplacer Assessment (April through July assessment dates) and the top two scoring candidates from the fall Accuplacer Assessment (August-October) will each receive a $5,000 scholarship. In the event of a tie, the awarding panel will interview the top-tying candidates.
These tuition scholarships are awarded in equal installments quarterly during each quarter of the recipients first year of attendance.
Deadlines:
- Applications for Summer quarter scholarship due by July 1 for those students starting in the July term. Summer winners will be announced in July of that calendar year.
- Applications for the fall quarter scholarship are due by October 1 for those students starting in the October term. Fall winners will be announced in October of that calendar year.
Eligibility:
1. Applicants must be high school seniors planning to attend the Academy beginning in the Summer or Fall quarter immediately following their high school graduation.
2. Applicants must complete a scholarship application and schedule a date to take the Accuplacer Assessment. This can be done through the High School Admissions Department at the Academy.
Scholarship Awarding Panel: The panel consists of the General Education Program Chair (also serves as the Chair), one faculty advisor, and one staff member from the Registrar’s office.
The International Academy of Design & Technology offers scholarships annually to both incoming (new students) and continuing students, in order to encourage the pursuit of higher education. Applicants must submit a separate application for all scholarships for which they wish to apply.
Scholarship applications for all Incoming Students are available from the Financial Aid Office or the Admissions Department.
Any award under $1,000 will be awarded in the term for which the award is granted. Awards of $1,000 to $4,999 will be applied in equal quarterly installments though an academic year (three quarters) of attendance. Awards of $5,000 or more will be applied in equal quarterly installments throughout the program length. Withdrawal from the Academy nullifies any unused scholarship funds.
Students may apply for multiple scholarships, but will only be eligible to receive one scholarship per scholarship cycle, the scholarship with the greatest cash value.
